   RPM Bearing Blaster  RATING:

 OVERALL

When was the last time you disassembled your RC vehicle and cleaned the bearings? We thought so.... Well, you need to get it done! Bearings that are clean and oiled will spin easier and cause less drag in the drivetrain. That means more power is put to the ground, you can go faster and on electric vehicles, your battery life will increase!

How do you clean bearings so you can re-oil them for optimum performance? Go to your LHS and pick up a RPM Bearing Blaster. This ingenious little tool allows you to clean bearings easily and thoroughly. Excellent instructions are included with the Bearing Blaster. All you need is a can of bearing cleaner (electric motor cleaner) and a rag....and of course some dirty bearings. After they are clean you will need to re-oil them with the proper lubricant. Your LHS will have a variety of oils you can use to relubricate the bearings.

So how does it work? First step - put on your safety glasses! Next, place the bearing into the BB (carefully remove the outer seal if the bearing has one - you can reuse it if you are careful not to damage it when taking it out). Then attach the BB cap to a can of motor spray/bearing cleaner (see picture to the left). Assemble the BB and spray away! You will want to do this on a rag to catch all the spray and dirt that will be flying out of your bearing. We used a clean portion of the rag for each blast so we could see when there was no more debris coming out of the bearing. Remove the bearing and let it dry. Relubricate and reinstall! You can even use the BB to relubricate your bearings!

The RPM Bearing Blaster works incredibly well and makes the bearing maintenance process as easy as it can be. It is so small it fits in any toolbox and at a price of about $9, it will pay for itself every time you use it by adding life to your bearings. Let's face it, bearings are not cheap!

   RPM Toe-In Gauge  RATING:

RPM - TOE-IN GAUGE

 OVERALL

Toe-in is a very important setting for your truck either on the track or just bashing. It is responsible for a great deal of vehicle control (or lack there of).

The RPM Toe-In Gauge checks toe through the simple method of comparing the width of the wheels at the rear of the tire to the width of the wheels at the front of the tire. The gauge is accurate to within one half of a degree per side. It can also can be used to check legal width of off-road buggies and trucks. That's a pretty sweet deal!

It's the same deal as the RPM Camber Gauge shown below.....you never realized how goofed up your truck is until you throw a "real" gauge at it.

It's small, lightweight (perfect for the toolbox) and inexpensive (about $10). What more can you ask for?

   RPM Precision Camber Gauge  RATING:

RPM - PRECISION CAMBER GAUGE

 OVERALL

The RPM Precision Camber Gauge is one of those items that many of us think we don't really need. We did too, until we bought one. Now we can't figure out how we lasted so long without it!

Sure, we were like you and used to "eyeball" our wheels and say "yeah that's about 2 degrees of camber". Boy were we wrong. In fact, every truck we own needed an adjustment or two...they were all off!! In a matter of minutes, you can get your vehicles back on the straight and narrow.

Simply set the desired camber via the handy scale molded right into the gauge. Find a nice flat surface to place your vehicle on and give the suspension a few good slams to make sure it is at normal ride height. Then place the gauge next to the wheel and adjust your camber until the tire is flush with the gauge. It doesn't get any easier than that! All this and it's only $10!

This awesome little tool should be in everyone's toolbox, racer or basher.
