    Default Motor/esc advice for conversion

I have an old .21 MGT and a Savage .25 with a **** ton of Savage parts. I know these trucks aren't up to handling the power the newer trucks have. Looking for recommendations on a motor/esc with power low enough for durability bordering the level of no fun. I have a couple new 4000/2c 3s lipos already, (for a brushed slash) would motors matching these batteries be to slow? I can fab mounts myself, may not be pretty....

1- 3s battery won't be enough, and 2-3s in a series at 6s would rip them apart. Hmmmm? This is not the best recipe for aged drivetrain. I would go with a 2200kv regardless and have a wide range of pinions on hand. That said I am trying out this cheapy china combo and believe it might be worth a try for you on 3S: http://www.tomtop.com/other-toys-117...?utm_source=cj
On another note, you need a higher rating than 2C lipos. 25C would be the lowest I would go for these applications...

If I understand right, the Rival esc will work with the batteries I have, am I correct? It says it's wired for 2, 2c to draw 7.4. Videos of the Rival makes it look way underpowered compared to most. I can get the Rival stuff on ebay for about $105 shipped.

From what I read the Associated Rival esc and motor will work with my batteries?

I can get them for about $105 total on ebay. It looks like a slow truck in the videos I've seen.

Looks slow from the videos I've seen, not doubting your information.

Your batteries will fry it. Its rated for 4s and you have 3s batteries. Making 6s when in series.
You think you know, but you have no idea.
