I keep looking at them, it's just hard for me to justify the money on it.

It is a good chunk of change to cough up. I've heard they're relatively tough, but there are also some bad ones out there that are more prone to breaking. The 8s upgrade apparently doesn't have a lower kv motor included (yet) If its 5th scale you want, it could be a good choice, but if you're looking for a good basher outside of 5th scale there are certainly better choices

I have had wanted to get one for a while, than came the day I actually had the chance to run one.. A part of me is glad that Traxxas finally pulled their head out of their butt and realized a heavy machine needs something more than 6s, although I ran the one on 4s and it was okay but it was also like a tease, you knew it had more in it but you couldnt put the power to it as it wasnt yours lol. It would also be nice if Traxxas came out with a lower kv motor to suit the X-Maxx, maybe someday that will come but for now you're stuck with the factory motor on 8s.
If I was in the market for one, I'd find a roller and then find all the optional parts that are included with their 8s power up pack, install the parts and then get a proper 5th scale motor and esc(Castle, or leopard) and have fun. BUT it wouldnt be cheap but it would so be worth it.

I would love to find a roller. I keep looking for one available but nothing is coming up as of yet. I'm seriously considering the lst xxl-2E but it's almost the same price as the Xmaxx.

Im pretty sure the newest 8S Xmaxx is coming with a lower KV motor

Out of the 100 or so RC's Ive owned, the lst2 is the only one I regret getting rid of. If I had the chance to get that or the X-maxx, LST2 all the way and I wouldnt regret it for a second. They are wicked stout rigs they're not unbreakable but they'll bash with the best of them and keep on wanting more.

Good parts support too for the Losi. You can find XXL2E rollers and conversions for much less than an x-maxx, and they can all be single battery which is what I prefer. Here is a nice prebuilt example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/losi-lst-xxl...wAAOSwo4pYWvd4
I'd bet he would do $500 shipped......

Exactly you can piece together from a roller and get a decent RTR for a good price. I had mine way before Losi had a factory conversion. I wish I never got rid of it, mainly just for it had The Dude motor mount... best dang mount to this day.

Starting a thread of my lst xxl build. Decided against the Xmaxx. It's to much money but this lst is a beast. Bigger then I thought it would be lol

xmaxx is cool. def needs a better motor tho. Mine runs a max6 esc and its slow on 6s. (33mph) i got a 5th scale motor coming for it so thats when things should get interesting

no need for a fancy stereo system...

I suppose if your running in long grass etc deep mud and the like the xmaxx is gonna be ya best bet with those huge tires. As for back up you can get traxxas parts anywhere and the customer service is the best around. Ive owned 5 traxxas models and personally cant fault them. Next for me will be the scaler next march.
