    Default Fiero's slash: 1979 ranger pre-runner

From the ashes of my parted out stampede i pulled together my slash chassis, i added a new rx box, new rx to sit in it, a rebuilt hitec 5625mg servo, aluminum rear hubs. And upgraded the axles from the 1951x sliders to the 6850x (slash 4x4 rear) axles. I also replaced the STRC hinge pins that i had stolen for another car. On top of all that i fabricated a new front bumper and swapped in a pair of puretech battery straps.

Between the castle 3800, the rpm and proline plastics, strc aluminum, and killer big bore shocks its a sweet setup that will go toe to toe with any basher slash out there But what to top it off with?

How about a JConcepts 1979 ford ranger body?

And how about we add a light bar too? (LED's on order)

    Dat booty

And a few more posed shots for funsies!

I still want to get a set of fresh 2.2/3.0 A-T tires, im looking at duratrax and proline and kind of split on the few tires ive narrowed it down to. The other thing im considering is a rear bumper, either the rpm or stocker. Itll be ruined either way so i may go rpm and add lenses and lights.

    Thanks guys.

i forgot to post it up but i also got the lights wired up.

its not shown but i blacked out the back of lights, i also added a lexan shield to protect the wire harness.

Mounted the 9v with a 2 way switch to the chassis. Used a strip of carbon fiber for added raceness. (Carbon fiber weave adds horsepower)

Yeah man I love it! Original Slash is still my "go to" truck for all around use and satisfaction. Nothing like a new body to freshen up interest in an old truck

I wasnt a fan of the slash platform for a long time but with all the bodies and aftermarket options out there now you'd be hard pressed not to find your flavor. Im playing with the idea of getting another one as an asphalt oval car.

Ive been buying packs from tom since like '09 when he still sold EnerG 4600 nimh cells. They are good people and i like supporting them.

The lights look good. I never was a big fan of the slash either but lately I've been eyeing them more and more.

I wasnt a fan for a long time, i got the chassis in a trade a few years ago for a figure 8 race (when money was a little more plentiful too) and it was a fun truck, i think i bashed it more than i raced it.

im having fun with it, i need to bust out my tunning stuff and really dial it instead of just beating on it, i might do that next week.
