Default best shocks for rc18 platform

What are the best shocks for the RC18T?

I am looking at upgrading... I do like the fact the GPM shocks have an all aluminum upper cap.How are the #Racing shocks? That is my otehr option, I haven't heard much on either, nothing conclusive anyways....

I'm not a fan og GPM or 3racing. I'd stick with the associated aluminum shocks.

what's wrong with gpm or 3racing?

someone on another thread jsut posted about HR shocks, i might need to look into those now..... they have a hard aluminum cap, and also threaded bodies [just need to see if they have a different color, i didn't like the light blue, with pink springs!]

not a fan of the FT ones, or the stock design.... i have found that the lower caps pop off as they aren't threaded

GPM and 3Racing just aer'nt known as a good parts quality company. Shocks are easy to make look cool but to make them function properly is another story. I'd be Very surprised to see either a gpm or 3racing shock not leak. I had a couple ends pop off my FT shocks but never any big issue with leaking. If you're against the FT shocks then I'd go with HR. HR is sometimes a hit or miss company but I've heard their shocks aer'nt too bad.

I highly recommend the 3Racing alloy shocks for the RC18T. I have used the Factory Team and GPM, but the 3Racing shocks are by far the best. If you build them right they work beautifully and don't leak. To get the best out of them I replace the 3Racing springs (front and rear) with LOSI Mini-T Front springs kit (#LOSB1117).

This is an awesome setup for asphalt: (Note: You have to also consider shock mount position, spring pre-load, wheels & tires, diff tuning)

    FRONT:
    - 3Racing RC18T front damper
    - LOSI Mini-T front springs - Medium
    - LOSI 35wt silicone oil

    REAR:
    - 3Racing RC18T rear damper
    - LOSI Mini-T front springs - Hard
    - LOSI 37.5wt silicone oil
