Looking good. It's a huge difference in size from what it used to be.

Its such a drastic change from what I can remember it being like in the sct form. Loads of fun though. Only thing that bugs me is that the esc I have doesnt seem to have a reverse function.

Received my bodies! My buddy already came to collect his, but it was the gtr in red/silver color scheme.

I already scaled up the chassis so it should fit the body, ive just yet to instal it.

The site listed them as pvc construction, but as you can see from the photo, they are VERY flexible.

My initial impressions are very good, colors are nice and the decals are placed well. For 5$ I really cannot complain about the quality.

Durability is another issue though, and we will see how that fares.

One thing to note however is they are not really true 1/18th scale. They dont fit the apex 1/18 be AE without some cutting along the wheel wells and even still there is quite a bit of wheel extension past the body.

They will fit rather well on mine, because its significantly less wide, but I will have a bit of wheel extension as well, hehe stance.

    Got some updates.

Exteneded Chassis by 13mm to allow for the new bodies.

Also cleaned up the wiring. Getting it back together slowly now.

Got my pinions in as well, going to try the 14T one (at least I think its 14T), should be nice step up from 12T I had installed.
Less torque and more top end will be nice.

Printing a LCG motor mount as I type this.

    Goodiess!!!

Well aside from the body needing to get mounted, and adding weights were needed its all done.

I think if looks sick as hell.. but then again im super biased.

Dude, you're making me want to turn on the big ol 500x500 printer of mine so I can finally do the truggy lol.
Im currently designing a chassis to put a 3d printed LS engine in and some how have it hooked up to actually work the engine.

Wow thats certainly a nice size! I've yet to max out the dimensions of my printer's modest 220x220 surface.

That sounds like a pretty awesome little project though!

Also I got discord, but I've got no idea what im doing.

Ive maxxed out my 220x220 surface I honestly dont remember how many times.
    I have a 600x600x600 in the works.

I guess once you have the stepper motors, upsizing is pretty easy. Just pay for the sliding rods. Still though, cant imagine the print time on something 600x600.

Im currently having serious issues with cogging on my motor, the leads that come off the esc get pretty hot as well ~60c. Its not the added teeth on the pinion gear, because even with no load the esc cogs. Ive tried swapping the esc leads to the motor, and apart from reveresing the motor spin direction, Ive had no luck. I dont have another esc or motor to try it with, but i've tried both my batteries and the problem is the same. Any ideas?

Update, upon inspection of the motor wires I ripped one of the windings out. So looks like Ill need to get a 1/24th brushless combo -_-

Went ahead and ordered a 45a esc (smallest they had) and a 1230 5000 (something) kv motor. Couple of bearings and ball studs for some stuff I've got planned later.

Apparently I've missed allot on this build. The new body look's real good and flexible for a $5 body, and that stink's about the motor getting messed up like that. .

    Cantilever suspension?

You gotta be more active on BYT, we gotta keep the traffic up on it. Haha.

Yea they seem to be pretty good, although the first crash will tell me how good of a body they really are.

Yup, designing inboard shocks, no particular reason, the cars handling wont benefit much from the design, I've just always like it, so now I'm making it. Im going to try and incorporate the mounting plate into the top chassis brace, but ill have to do some tweeking to that as well. I want to make a center brace in the chassis that supports the top mount in the middle, as well as a bearing carrier for the drive shaft, I dont have any 4mm bearings though, which is unfortunate. Im thinking about just making a 4.1mm bushing and using that, but im not sure how well a rotating shaft ~40k rpm will fare, maybe contain it in an oil reservoir? Im not sure.

Got it printed out, to test fit parts. Pretty happy with it, there are however a couple things that need to be changed.

    Updates!

Got the inboard suspension in the semi-completed phase.
You can see my sway bar, still very much in the prototype phase kind of installed, it does its job decently (notice how one wheel is pulled down, the other is pushed up.

The rear shock mounts need to be moved back quite a few mm's to line up the push rods with the suspension knuckles.

Have to manage to incorporate a sway bar mount into the push rods as well.

The final version will have the top chassis brace and front/rear suspension mounts as a solid piece.

Still a ways to go, but pretty happy with everything so far.

    More updates..

Very happy with how it turned out.

Like always couple things left to do..
    Add front sway bar
Tie front and rear shock plates together on a top chassis brace
Add rear upper hinge pin holder.

Heres a little more progress that I've gotten done.

    27901143_10157039171004392_1740553226_o.jpg
    27901814_10157039171099392_2142836284_o.jpg

    27907379_10157039171089392_63677806_o.jpg
    27950680_10157039171114392_1026594527_o.jpg

So suspensions all done, printing out a centre chassis brace to tie the mid portion of the upper deck into the chassis.

Also turning my attention to the body, adding some scale features, rear diffuser, front splitter, possibly a roll cage and interior detail, well see.
Got to tweak the body posts too, when i drilled the body pin holes, I miss aligned them, so body does not sit flush.
