    Default Panthers AX-10 Warthog

Got most of my parts here today to start building my AX-10. I started mocking it up and found out the lower links that came with it won't work because they hit the chassis like crazy.
    So the parts list is:
    HBZ Warthog Chassis
    Vanquish Transmission Case
    STRC Knuckles
    STRC Lock-out Kit
    STRC Hub Carriers
    Venom 55t motor
    Venom VSC 240 ESC
    Weighted XR10 Wheels
    HobbyKing HK15298B Servo

That's enough for the list. Here are some pictures from today. I sand blasted the chassis and primed it, I will paint it tomorrow.

Thank's. Right now I am going to try it out with a set of Wraith shocks my cousin let me borrow since he switched to aluminum shocks. There is always a good reason to buy another rig.

And on a different note, I finished painting the chassis metallic orange today also.

Well, I ordered a bunch of parts for the truck hoping I could start putting it together and found out I can't use the bent links I ordered so I went ahead and ordered a set of straight links for it. And when I went to put the 3-link together I found only 2 of the 3 holes were drilled, Has anyone had this issue? There is a pic below showing it.

And here is the non-drilled hole in the 3-link part.

Where tdid that cage come from? I might have missed that bit of information. I wasn't aware the AX-10 had a cage. I could be way wrong tough. Looks like it's coming along nicely!

    Thanks guys.

It would be nice to get some rock rash on it soon.

CMB, the cage is a HBZ warthog chassis.

I drilled out the holes in the 3-link mounts and got the STRC bent links set-up to where I think they are going to work but I won't know for sure until I get my tires.

First I want to give a shout out to Underground Crawlers, I ordered the last Fastback II chassis they had on their website on the 27th and it got here today on the 29th. Hopefully I will be switching from the Warthog chassis soon and start running their chassis. I've had the truck done with the warthog chassis for awhile now and haven't really driven it much, but the few times I have driven it I enjoyed it.

Here are a few pics of the chassis when it arrived today and pics of the completed truck.

What could this be? Lets open it up and find out.

    Such a tease.

So what was in that green foam? This

Starting to look better, Now lets open that stuff.

Now lets find out what was in that paper. Oooohhhhhh

Now here are some pictures of the truck as it sits.

Quick update for tonight. My Vanquish Titanium lower links and my Vanquish 4-Link plates came in so I was able to mock the truck up tonight. I am still using stock shocks for now, But with the wheels and tires on it I had 4 inches from the table to the bottom of the skid plate. Now I need to order my Vanquish uppers and I should be about ready to start putting it together.

Here are some pictures from tonight. I didn't get any pictures with the wheels and tires on it so these will have to do for now.

    New parts!!!

    Links assembled with Revo ends.

Came home from work today and had a couple of packages waiting on my. My upper Titanium links from Vanquish came in and so did my Harley Designs screw kit. Hopefully I can get the upper links mounted up tonight and see where I stand on the build.

I guess I forgot to update this thread after I started getting more and more parts for the AX-10. So here goes a long list of updates to the truck.
After I got the titanium upper links from Vanquish I decided the truck sat too high so I changed the stock AX-10 shocks out for a set of stock Wraith shocks and that helped being the ride height down to an acceptable level. And it was sitting like this at that point.

After I finished putting it together in that form I found that the Venom 55t motor and VSC240 esc were too weak for what I was doing with the truck and decided it was time to upgrade the electronics so I off I went to TCS crawlers and I picked up a Tekin FXR esc and a Holmes Hobbies Torque Master Pro 35t motor and ran them on 3s. Things went good for a little while then I snapped one of the MIP CVD's which I later found out a lot of people had allot of issues with them in the AX-10. So I changed them out for Axial CVD's. Right now the truck is waiting for a XR10 steering swap with a set of XR10 CVD's that are modified for 70 degrees of steering.
Here is how it is sitting right now.

It's been hanging out on the shelf for the most part. I was working on some suspension changes using a part's made by Classic Cut Customs, They are called choke collars and they take the place of the stock lower link and shock mounts on the axles. I need to get my dremel out and finish them up and post some pictures. I got the rear ones done and it helped my flex issue of the spring cups hitting the stock shock mounts so now I need to do the front ones. Oh, I also swapped the Wraith shocks out for Losi shocks.
