Hey everyone. So given the popularity of scale short course/desert trucks these days, it seems to me that it might be time to start a buildoff with that type of theme. I'm always a fan of unique ideas and spurring on a little creativity though, so here's my idea for a theme for a desert racing build competition;
Build a scale model of a desert racing truck from 2050. I want to see what everyone thinks offroad racing will turn into in the future. This theme would require people to examine current trends and technology in full scale racing, use some analytical thinking and creativity, and come up with a project that is truly unique and innovative. I'm thinking there would be relatively loose guidelines, but it would include the following;
- The finished truck must appear to be scale. No Revos or monster trucks with a Chevy body, you'd really have to work to create a scale appearance of a vehicle that exists only in theory.
- Short course wheels and tires only, to keep it connected to the original class of vehicles.
- Any scale you want
If enough people are interested in doing this type of buildoff, I can come up with a more specific prompt, such as a description of a specific race from the year 2050 that the theoretical rigs would be entered in, as well as some more concrete rules for the build. Or, if people are interested in doing a buildoff but don't like the theme, feel free to post alternative ideas. I've attached a few pictures of concept offroad vehicles to give some people ideas of what I'm thinking in terms of the theme I've suggested above.
So...Thoughts?
