Default Traxxas prepaint chipping and flaking

So I recently bought a preprinted Traxxas body and after two bash sessions on my revo she's flaking and chipping hardcore so I am just wondering if anyone knows if they always clear coat their bodies before they sell them because I have painted two bodies myself and cleared them and have had no paint issues and it seems like ever time I buy a preprinted body this happens to me...so my questions are this:
    do they come pre cleared?
and if I wash the body down and spray it with clear myself will it help stop it from getting any worse and apply some touch up paint to the areas that have chipped
i am not an expert painter by any means so I figured a little advice would be great

The factory bogies are screen printed not painted. Clearing would help as the printing is very thin.
    got paint?

Really I never knew that because I know I bought a Traxxas rustler clear body and painted it myself and applied two coats of clear and she's held up amazing but the regular summit body with the new paint scheme not so much and I guess she's gonna get a coat of clear to try and protect h as best I can
