I usually upgrade when my parts start breaking. Yeah these thing are a blast. They're mad durable. I can be doing cartwheels and flips all day and I won't break one part. The only thing that's bad about the car is the front shock tower. As you can see in the last picture, the front shock tower looks very weak.

+2 on that, but I've never broke either. Should be fine! The one stock part Ive snapped on 1/10 Traxxas kits id castors and carriers. Not often, but its happined. I generally RPM asap.

Looks great, like it just came out of the box, you need to fix that pronto Mr. lol

The front shock tower on these things are an engineering brain storm (one of the few Traxxas has had ) just enough flex they never break.

Ditto on the Rustler being great truck. Sometimes I just consider selling all my stuff and bying one of these since they barely break!

rusty's are great trucks I would reccomend an alloy front bulk and steering knuckles when the stockers break - they are the only things Ive broken in 3 years

An RPM front bumper is a huge upgrade and should be done before you break the stock front bumper (which I have done on my rustler way back when). I managed to break the rear shock tower on mine but only once and I replaced it with the $3 stock one no problem since. I also broke the front one but only cracked it, it stayed together for years of abuse (If you want to see what a crack in the front shock tower does to it's rigidity check out this video, you can see it flex like crazy at high speeds). RPM front casters are a huge upgrade as well, I kept breaking the stock ones and I kept replacing them because they were so cheap, but now I have RPM ones and I am much happier. The RPM a-arms are another great upgrade you will be happy with those, you might want to look at the rear ones they are so long they break much easier than the fronts. Keep an eye out for the motor wires going though the rear shock tower, after a couple years of running the plastic tower manage to cut the shielding of one of my wires.

Come check it out I'm redesigning the Traxxas Rustler (update 11/10/14 body is done)

    Garage:
Jato 3.3 --S&W Extreme Port and Polish, RPM A-arm
Savage SS -- Surefire .32, 3 speed, FFRC shock towers, and Buku 3 shoe adjustable clutch
Rustler VXL (aka Outlaw) -- Complete redesign
    LST2 -- Mach 28
SUT -- Built up from scratch more custom parts than SUT parts
