The weight difference between the 4 and 5 cells packs is quite noticable, however for bashing, I cant say i can feel a difference in handling. For speed and runtimes, the 5s dominates.

I picked up some stuff for the X2 this past week and have some doubles.

I think in a truggy the 2200 on 4s is supreme. I ran an 1800kv and even a 1600kv on 5s and 6s but my favorite is the 2200kv on 4s, and throw 5s at it for them crazy times! Wonder how much power difference there is between a MMpro and a MMM?

My mmp ran 5s in both a truggy and my e savage conversion.

The 1515 motors are rated for 120A max right? I don't think they'll be pulling much over 80A if it's on 4S? I can't say for sure. Seems like it's pretty popular for some 1/8th scales though?

On 4s, the MMP was right at home with the 1800kv motor, 5s was just crazy. After 2+ years on nimh, and lipo it went on me. Im sure youll be just fine.

...Once I saw AE running the 2200 with an MMpro in the RTR SC8e I figured it has potential. Truggy tires are a fair amount larger than SC tires but I figure the overall load is probably similar between a fully loaded sc8e and a truggy. Pretty certain a fair amount of testing went into that setup and it proved to be worthy so thats kind of what I am basing my opinion on rather than actual hard facts or experience. My MT and truggy both run MMM, but I do have a Maxx on MMpro but so far have only stuck 3s to it...

Well I have a MMM / 2200 setup coming from Motorrad. The MMM needs work but I think I may try the 2200 with my MMP on 4S? Maybe take it easy and see how it does?

Robo5 is hooking me up with some X2 goodies. I should be about ready to do the build now. I'll just need a pinion, servo and battery and I'll be good to go!

That will work fine. Figure on a 15t pinion with the stock spur gear.

What exactly is the stock spur on these?

A big one, they didn't re-gear the truggy differentials for smaller spurs til' the next gen X-2 CRT:

Ok that's what I was wondering. On the speed calculator it had a large one that was 60 something. That helps though..... I think a 15t pinion would be the best starting point. Put me right around 40-45 on 4S.

Yep, with 2200KV or close thereto, been there done that. If you go 6S you must have a slipperential then, just the facts man.....These truggies are more fun on 4S, as they are on the ragged edge of control then, 6S just makes them parts breakers. Bearings explode, diffs. strip out and plastic bits just seem to fly off at speed! It will remind you of your Mugen when you drive it. Handles predictably and tough as nails. Very forgiving to ham fisted maneuvers.

Figured I'd spend a little time and update some threads here on BYT. I haven't really been out of RC, probably even more now than the last couple years but I'm so busy with work and the family that getting on BYT doesn't happen much.

I did get this thing converted over to an X2 and threw some electronics in it!

Ran a 13t pinion in it and it rips! GPS right over 40mph. I did find one weak spot though.........



Plastic center braces don't hold up at all.... Chassis is still straight. Just flexed enough to pop the front center brace and stuff the rear center drive shaft. I need to get some replacement parts but I stole the electronics out of this and put them in something else which I'm making a thread for next......

I upgraded to the center braces to 'Kingheadz' as it came with mine. $$$ tho but it came with my package.

What front knuckles does it have? Looks CNC. and this is the biggest weak point.

Heck I don't even remember if they're aluminum? I'll have to check them out. No idea where they're from if they are.
