Not re-inventing the wheel here but thought I'd post this up since I've seen it brought up before. Most people are now familiar with the FlySky FS-GT3B 2.4gz radio. I was getting tired of the radio going through AA's as I'm sure most people are. I modded my 3pk for use with a 3S lipo so I thought I'd see if this radio had room as well.
First I removed the screws that held the two halves of the radio case together. At this time I also found out that the times my son has dropped the radio have took its toll! He must of cracked it right around the bottom of the pistol grip because instead of the whole half coming off, only the bottom came off. This allows the battery holder to come out.
Here you can see where the housing cracked at the bottom of the pistol grip.
Test fit with an older Zippy 1500mah lipo. This pack is pretty thick and surprisingly fit, I'll have to get a measurement but I'd guess most packs 1500mah or smaller should fit not problem.
Quick little solder job, heated up the leads on the AA holder and they came right off, soldering up a deans.
Screwed the half case back on and inserted the lipo and wa-la.

Could you mount something like this to monitor your voltage, and use it in a Traxxas radio?

Did you by chance get measurements of the battery?
You think you know, but you have no idea.
pretty nifty guys. oh the things they come up with on this site. i love it here.
back in michigan i didn't realize how much i loved snow
I did something similar. I found a 3S 1600 20C Lipo that is even smaller than that. I'll post pictures tonight. All I had to do was take the AA part out.
