    Default Project Silent burnout

Mission: to prove the superiority of electric powerplants by creating the most over powered buggy possible.

    So far:
    600L motor (including wire) $10.00
    UBEC $8.00
    OPTO 120 amp esc $40.00
    clutch bell for pinion $12.00$
for my project I currently have

    9.5 MBX (guinea pig)
    Align 600L Hybrid
    Ko Propo EX-10 Helios

For my project I chose the 600L powerplant do to its power to weight ratio. This is an outrunner motor but has a can built around it making it what is called a hybrid motor. you can see this in the pics below. This motor was donated by a member on another forum to me because there was a short in a winding. The stock wind was a 5 wind 6 turn of 26 AWG wire the style was a double sequential and delta terminated. the stock wind was able to spin a 54" helicopter rotor with enough power to do mild 3D. If it can do that im sure it can make a buggy burn rubber at half throttle.

since the lipos that this project would need float in the 150-200 dollar range im going to get some LiFePo4 (A123) cells from work. that sould allow the maximum discharge without the danger of over draw that happens with LiPos

I'll keep an eye on this. Looks sweet! I'm working on a new truck too but will be a crawler. Hoping to have it done by the time the Ray's event rolls around at the end of the month.

Orange, blue, green, and yellow? I think your buggy needs somethign other than a conversion

Sounds awesome! If I can spin the tires with a 1.5HP engine, you should have no probs with a brushless!

Motor mount is done, its made from from an unknown alloy of aluminum. the motor fits well but im thinking of reversing it to the front of the car on the same side.

the next step regardless is to make my pinion gear
