    Default Vintage Kyosho Fans I need a hand

    I need to figure out on my old kyosho outlaw rampage, The spur gear is toast. Does anyone have any ideas asto what will work in there as the style produced by kyosho was discontinued. I got it used a few yrs back. It was a blast. But now I need to find a adiquate replacement for the spur gear. Anyone Been through this before? Any brand and part # ideas to get my outlaw out tearing it up again? I might be in the wrong form? im not sure where it fits with out the body it looks kinda like a buggy but the body makes it look like a stadium truck. With a set of masher 2000's on the rear. It really needs the nobbs back thats why the spur is gone. The nitrostar 15 I transplanted in it makes it scream but I wanted more tire grip and I guess I got too much. The stock set-up really needs a moded slipper style clutch carrying the spur, kind like on the savage X. Ive seen problems with them but Ive fixed and corrected them too. I hope someone rembers this kyosho truck thing and or has any ideas as to what to use to mod in to there. I miss it.

    A picture would help but if I were you I would keep an eye on eBay for what you are looking for.
    I have found gears, shocks, belts etc. for my Yokomo YZ-870 Super Dog Fighter circa 1985 on ebay many times, NOS. (New Old Stock)

    As far as your "old" Kyosho Outlaw Rampage I have come across parts on eBay almost weekly.

    Do you have the ability to put a picture up? i.e. digital camera, scanner, or converter?
    I might know where to get one if I could see what you are after.

    Actually I was just working on it yesterday, doing some things to get it together. Ill take some pic's of it after I get done with work. Then Ill hijack my wifes PhotoBucket acct. to post some pics. Its all ready for a new Spur and a new belt, That I have. But I need to figure out where I put it. I really wanna nix the OE driveline, But Im not sure what parts to get to do it. What I mean by that is I would like it hooked up kinda like the transverse mounted style.

    (-------I---)
    ====I

    sorry that doesnt show very well but the " ==I " would be the motor with the " (-------I---) " being the rearend and the " (-------I---) " the " I " would be the spur gear.

    I know Ive seen that setup before. But I am at a loss as to what Brands/ Models used it? But as psudo stock it is still only 1 speed gearing. and it would still be that but it would minimise the parts that where breaking to just the spur that hopefully I would still be able to get. With the setup I would like, I would be going to a 3 shoe clutch bell. But for now I just want to play with it. So I will post some pics later today with the stock style setup..
