Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
Those look awesome !!!!!!!!!
Wow, I wish I was home to take advantage of the snow, cuz I would scoop one of these up.
Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
Good news with these 2WD trucks is that the require no modification to the truck to be put on. Just take off the front wheels and put these bad-boys into the existing place.
Unlike the 4WD MT's which you need to take out the front driveshafts to make it into a 2WD truck.
Looks great Romean! Very cool product!
Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
They look awesome - Do you reckon they will fit other 2wd ST's?
Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
Those look great Romean!
We are supposed to get about 4-6 inches here today and I was just looking at my MAXX skis on the wall (time to break them out).
If you have snow and can use these (or any of the others FFRC carries) I highly recommend getting a set! They work amazingly well and all you really need to do is waterproof your truck. If you want max performance on the snow, think about adding two paddle tires to the rear of your truck ;)
Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
It's a shame that England gets barely any snow, and where I live is sheltered by the Pennines so the snow travels right past me. Good thing is that we don't get as many storms I guess.
Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
We were cautious about doing the ski kits for the these trucks as the stock carriers were a bit weak for holding the skis. But when Traxxas started putting out their new aluminum hubs and carriers, and we were constantly getting more requests from customers, we decided to look into it again.
To answer your question Matt, we've simply not had the time to check out fit on any other vehicles. I dropped off a set at one of our local shops yesterday. I will give them a quick call and see of they may have some time to try it out on a couple of other MT trucks.
Now, back to bending more plastic.

Just never fails, every time we put out something new we get the "what about...." LMAO!
Havn't had a chance to check fit of these on a Jato. Don't even have one here in the shop. I've dropped off a couple of sets at our local shop and I will ask them to check it out for us.

Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
!!! YES! Its about time a Rusties and pedes get skis! THANK YOU! Perfect for my pede (and possibly a rusty i might get...). This is so sick! I so need a pair!
Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
Cool I got a pede coming in the mail as a winter beater!!!!!!:yahoo
I Live In Maine :D
Just got 16 inches of snow monday.
Nuff Said:thumbsup
Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
Pat i would think they should work on your Jato. May need a washer for spacing for the longer spindle. The rim bearings are the same size from the pede/rusty to the jato.
Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
We have not checked the fit on a Jato yet here. They don't have one at our local shop and we're really not looking to go out and get one just to see if these fit. I've asked around locally to see who wants to bring their truck in here for us to check (they get a free set of skis if it fits).
But as of right now we don't know if they will fit. Just because they use the same bearings does not mean that the side brackets will line up to the holes on the carrier arms.

Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
Is there any videos of the floating around? I would like to see how the stampede would do. Being so light didnt know how the acel and rear traction would be?
Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
Didn't get any videos while we had the snow on the ground here. Now it's all gone. I wil get some videos if I get a chance the next time we covered in the white stuff here.

Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
Bu...Uh...I....you....AHHH
You beat me to making them..
only mine would be a bit more complicated and weigh more...
Re: Rustler/stampede Ski Kits Are Here
Had a chance today to check out these kits on a Jato. The front hubs on the Jato are totally different in geometry, sorry but these will not fit the Jato at all.
We did check them on a couple of other trucks such as the Losi XXX-T and an associated B4. The do come close but there is the issue of modifications, on some trucks you have to drill extra holes in the arms coming off the hubs (Not recommended) and on others you have to modify the ball studs and hardware.
As of right now we will stick to what these kits were designed for and state that they do not fit any other vehicle other than the Rustler/Stampede trucks. We really can't claim compatibility if it involves drilling extra holes or other indirect modifications to make them fit other trucks.
