BYT Behavior Rules

These guidelines apply to the BYT Forum AND the BYT Chat Room. Any infraction of these rules may result in temporary or permanent banning from BYT.

1.) No posts regarding religion or politics. They are not appropriate for BYT.

2.) Treat other members as you wish to be treated. If you have nothing nice to say about another member (or their truck etc), keep your mouth shut.

3.) No profanity or slander. If you see that a particular word in your post has been replaced with asterisks *****, that means it has been deemed not appropriate for BYT, which is a family safe forum. Please edit your post and remove the word and refrain from using any profanity. Violating this rule will get you a warning and if you choose not to play by the rules, you will be banned. Profanity is for those who lack the creativity and intelligence to otherwise express themselves.

4.) No threats of harm to body or property.

5.) Any pictures, videos or web site links displayed MUST be appropriate for all ages.

6.) If your post needs an interpreter, it may get deleted. Take the time to spell check!

If there is a problem with a particular post or members behavior, contact a moderator or Chris immediately.

Linking and Advertising Rules

Here they are.

1) You may link to any personal or club site provided it meets Beat Your Truck's decency standards.

2)The only links to commercial sites that will be allowed are links that are for cool items you have came across (jet powered truck for example).. Commercial is defined as any site that promotes a product for sale, posts advertisements or is a "competitive" RC site.

3) If someone ask where to get a part then you can link to any commercial site as long as YOU are not benefitting from that site. Paid advertisers are exempt, they are under an entirely different set of rules.

4) Violation of rules will be deleted.

5) If you are unsure if the link will be allowed, ask Beat Your Truck Mod Squad or Admin. They have the final word. The only advertising allowed on the Beat Your Truck forum is from our paying advertisers. No exceptions. We do not allow "free advertising" as it is unfair to our current advertisers and reduces the value they receive from advertising here. Rule to stop people from joining Beat Your Truck to just sell their stuff.

A minimum of 50 posts is required to be able to view or post in the RC Trade & Sell Forum.

The RC Trade & Sell Forum is for Beat Your Truck members. It was not meant to be a place for people to stop in and sell their stuff to our members.

This may cause some problems for recent members that may already have a post in the RC Trade & Sell Forum but do not have 50 posts yet....now they can't get in. I am sorry for this but you will have to browse the forum and find some topics to participate in until your post count gets to 50.

Thanks for your understanding and support!

How can I become a BYT Supporter?

Read more about it here: http://www.beatyourtruck.com/forum/showthread.php?31793-Become-an-Official-BYT-Supporter!

How to become a Beat Your Truck Administrator or Beat Your Truck Moderator.

Ok! I get asked this a lot so here’s the scoop.

Administrator: The ONLY way to be the administrator at Beat Your Truck is to own the Beat Your Truck web site. That is my job and unless you have a lot of money to buy Beat Your Truck from me….well....it just is not going to happen! Sorry!

Moderator: Beat Your Truck moderators are chosen by the Administrator (remember that is me) and the current Beat Your Truck moderators. When the Beat Your Truck forum grows in traffic and membership to the point where I feel we need to add another mod to keep the peace and help out, I look for current Beat Your Truck members with the following qualities:

* Active – on the Beat Your Truck forum often.

* Knowledgeable – well rounded knowledge of RC (very good understanding of nitro RC is a minimum requirement….electric is a bonus).

* Attitude – always has a good attitude, helpful to others.

* Mature – regardless of age, they must act mature and be able to handle difficult people from time to time (we have moderators that are not old enough to drive yet and others that are veterans of the US Military…a wide range of experience and knowledge but all mature).

* Respect –Very important! Respect other members of the board.

* Foresight – Must understand that in order for Beat Your Truck to grow, prosper and attract more members, it is important to offer a fun, intelligent, helpful environment that people will want to frequent.

So where do you fill out the application for this position? You can’t do it. In fact, you are actually working on your application with every post that you make on the Beat Your Truck forum. And remember, being the most helpful, friendly, smart person on the Beat Your Truck board will not necessarily get you a mod spot. It is dependant upon who the current moderators and I choose. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH POST COUNT...IT IS POST QUALITY!

Let’s summarize:
You can’t apply for it!
You should not ask for it!
If you really want to be a Beat Your Truck moderator (RC Experts in my book), start working for it (and again, there are no guarantees)!
